Writing an ebook

Now at Christmas is out of the way I am really looking to properly getting on with the iPad trial in my school.

I felt the time before Christmas was an extremely useful chance for the students in my class to get hands on. They appeared to really enjoy the chance and in our last lesson we had a go a writing an ebook. See the picture below ....

I felt the students need a little bit more direction no they have had a chance - so I created the following prezi to help them, please give me some feedback if you have any ...

I also plan on using "the app builder", more information can be found on twitter @theappbuilder. I also had a fascinating chat with a teacher from America on Skype @BushjMS. He had already implemented the use of this app with a class and he some excellent ideas. It was great to speak to a teacher from a different continent and hear some of the ideas that they implement over there ... One of the ideas Jeff gave me was "prove to me you've learned something" ... With a little direction from me I really do believe that my class could thrive under these conditions.

I'm also hoping to give my class the chance of writing their own socrative (@Socrative) quizzes. This is an absolutely brilliant resources, although time consuming to write a lot on own. Over Christmas I tweeted with my CPD account (@DaveAshtonCPD) and got a retweet from socrative about the possibility of other maths teachers sharing their quizzes. However, unfortunately I didn't have a huge uptake one people getting in touch ... This cold potentially be a brilliant way for me to use resources that my class make with other classes - providing their accurate of course

All that remains to be said is Happy New Year ... I look forward to telling you more about this project.
